Our lost dog.

Wow, what a week last week!  Just as we were beginning to celebrate Taylor's Birthday and the birthday of our American Independence...Greta, our German Shepherd goes missing.  Three days and two nights of desperation ended on a happy tone though...thanks to the great folks at Louisville Metro Animal Services and an anonymous angel who called in our injured lost princess.  Greta was found on July 6th which happens to be Harper's birthday!  What an emotional week....but Greta is doing great and the girls had great birthdays...they were even on WBKI Louisville talking about it!  Thanks to everyone and to God for Greta's safe return!

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20

I just returned from a 12 day road trip... an amazing experience!  First, we headed up to Rochester, NY for events with the VVA Chapter 20 visiting the VOC (Veterans Outreach Center), the Richard's House for Homeless Veterans, and a look at the VETS Court system to see how it works.  Then onto Niagara Falls for the kiddos!  We took the girls to New York City for the first time and did a little sight seeing for a few days then onto Washington, DC for meetings at the Pentagon with the Chairman!  I took the girls by the Vietnam Veterans Wall, Korean Memorial and the WWII Memorial...we also had a chance to go to Fords Theater to see a play about Lincoln's Assassination. After DC it was on to Harper's Ferry to see where sparks flew as the Civil War was about to get under way...my favorite General...Stonewall Jackson...was there at the start....what an amazing town and National Park...the girls got a National Parks Passport to take and get stamped at all the US National Parks...so cool....we spent the entire day and wish we had more time because it was a breath taking experience...I highly recommend it to everyone!  After that, onto Gettysburg, PA to see the Battlefield that pretty much decided the war...even though the war waged on for almost two more years...it was sooo impressive and very moving...the girls got to see "Devil's Den" and saw the KY Monument to Lincoln where he did the Gettysburg Address.....I thought it was interesting that two KY boys were at the head of the entire Civil War...Lincoln and Jefferson Davis.  What a trip and educational experience for all!

Prayers for Missouri

Every morning I hustle to get the kids ready for school, comb the hair, pack the lunch and then..."whew"...they're gone.  As I closed the door thinking, "what a catastrophe,"...I turn on the news and see a true catastrophe in Missouri.  It's a very humbling moment when you realize the things we worry or stress out about everyday are so ridiculous especially when compared to true suffering to so many of our fellow Americans....please pray for those in Missouri.

Department of Veterans Affairs in Chicago

Had a great time in Chicago speaking to the Departments of Prosthetics for the Department of Veterans Affairs!  Thank you to all who love and work for our veterans!  It is always inspiring to see and meet those who choose to work in the VA Medical Centers nationwide.  Most love the veterans they serve and are more than happy to offer a hand up to a better way of life for all veterans.  So, hats off to you out there who make a difference everyday by serving those who have served our country!

Coming home to chaos

Nothing like traveling and coming home to find a HUGE pile of work awaiting you:>)  Isn't that how it always is?  I am at the studio trying to make sense of all the notes left for me....P.S. My knee is killing me after having to run thru the Chicago airport to catch my connecting flight...wow, thanks to the fine folks in Customs and Security for slowing things up so that myself and two others coming from Hong Kong had to run like Forest Gump to catch our flight...it was quite a sight to see:>)  ...me running yelling HOLD THE PLANE....wish someone had caught it on video:>)

Fashion Sketches

Well, my hand officially hurts from drawing today...I have to get about 25 - 30 pieces ready for my first gallery opening in Augusta, KY for the Augusta Art Guild April 1-17th....

Breakfast at Mimi's

Just finished an amazing breakfast at Mimi's Cafe going over business/ life issues....it's amazing how overwhelmed I can get when talking out the extreme details...I wish I could have a flash drive installed in my brain so I could print out a receipt of numbers when asked about the finer details of accounting for accounts receivable....can't wait till I can hire a CFO...then maybe I can get back to creating instead of managing:>)

The Warehouse!

Just finishing up a long day in the warehouse shipping out dresses for Prom orders....wow, I have a new found respect for anyone working in a shipping department!  Now up to the studio to work on my gallery opening April 1st in Augusta, KY...

Welcome to my blog!

So, today I started my blog to let people know a little more about me instead of reading what others think they know about me.  I will try to keep this as up to date as possible and hopefully connect with people on a more personal basis.
